ABOUT CAROLINE

I believe cultivating personal style is a crucial part of our identity.

My interest in style stems from my background in photography and a passion for the visual arts. While studying for my psychology degree, I began to understand more deeply the ways dress impacts how people respond; it was as if I were telling a story that could evoke feelings in others. As I began to distinguish the difference between general cultural prescriptions for women and a sense of my personal identity, my interest in style expanded further. At the same time, becoming a member of a cosmopolitan culture — I came to San Francisco from Minnesota by way of Wisconsin — inspired a more sophisticated attention to style and dress.

how it started

I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Wright institute in September 2011. In 2009, I began working independently as a Milieu Therapist. While I also perform a more traditional version of individual psychotherapy, the dynamic nature of my Milieu work informs the way I engage with my clients… meeting people in their own environments helps them gain a better understanding of the obstacles directly in the way of a more productive and meaningful life.

I am an active, engaged therapist and I value the relationships with my clients tremendously. It is a gift to know someone on such an intimate level.

My work as a psychotherapist informs and inspires my work as a personal stylist on many levels.

Our style, and how we present ourselves, is the first communication we deliver to people in the outside world.
I’d love to work with you on your style.
